Culture Hacking to Find a Better Way
Catherine Louis and Stefan Haas met in 2012 at the Stoos Stampede in Amsterdam. Catherine attended as a founding member of the Stoos network, formed by a diverse group of twenty-one people with the intent of finding a better way of leadership in organizations today. During Stefan’s workshop about Culture Hacking, which combined artful interventions, design thinking and change they discovered they also shared a passion for lean agile product thinking.
Launching a safe space for Product Creators
In November 2012 they launched the first #PoDojo public workshop in Berlin with the goal of providing a safe space for product creators to practice and improve their skills by playing hands-on with digital product innovation tools and processes. Since then the Product Dojo, (named after “Dojo” (道場), the Japanese expression which means a room to practice martial arts) has exemplified a social and experiential learning experience of agile product thinking and practicing with processes to deal with the complex nonlinear challenges of digital business models and product innovation.
Social Learning the Art of Creating Products Customers will Love
We believe that learning complex skill like product is a social task. From the groups of learners who joined the Product Dojo events in Berlin, a trusted partner network of highly experienced coaches sharing the passion for product, design, agile teamwork and innovation has emerged. Our partners bring complementary skills and deep expertise in the fields of Team Psychology, Personal Leadership development, Arts and Design Thinking. While teaching and coaching along with the growing community of hundreds of people who have joined the Product Dojo, we learn and share knowledge discovered on our evolving journey with the goal of improving our ability to create products customer will love.
Sustainable Product Development
We believe that creating customer value to support a viable business model isn’t enough in the anthropocene age. Climate change, accelerated species extinction and pollution of the planet are quickly becoming pressing issues. Product development is changing the world but cannot be unchanged. What is needed is a sustainable approach to business model and product innovation. We have included sustainability thinking into our learning journey and and support the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. From the increased awareness of sustainability new opportunity areas are emerging. We are constantly looking for ways to support initiatives that add real value. Here’s our GoSustainable Roadmap and please get in touch if you want to contribute.

Fully packed 3 days, lots of info and practice, no boring sit and listen training.
My biggest win from PoDojo was understanding how to come up with ideas that could be tailored to my products and work in my genius zone. PoDojo has made my approach towards Product Management fun! With them I truly feel that sky it the limit when it comes to the tools and techniques I have learned.
Learning while having fun? It sounds like a trap! Intensive, engaging, very social!

Intensity of the training was super high and even thou, when I went home, I wanted to experiment on things and being tired did not even matter. Knowledge that directly motivates you to do more and take an action, is the best kind of knowledge that one can get. Thank you for this !

Being in a startup team often means high pressure and uncertainty. Both can be roadblocks for creativity and collaboration which is so crucial for success. The #PodDjo 1×1 was an eye-opening experience for me. It helped me not only to unfold my full potential under these difficult conditions but also to motivate others.

Super inspiring mixture of theoretical and practical experiences provided by an excellent and highly skilled group of coaches. Intense 3 days, but worth every minute. Thanks guys!
Get long lasting experiences from a highly motiovated and highly skilled team of teachers!
Loved this course, learnt so much by actually doing the work. Stefan, Jens and Catherine are excellent coaches providing the support and teaching that I was looking for.
Great variety of exercises, continuous feedback from coaches & participants.
It’s great to have someone who listens, who isn’t directly involved with the product or the company. I have both just talked about my concerns and problems, and received advice / a different perspective, and asked specifically for advice/ guidelines of behavior in certain situations. I have always gotten good advice that I used and has made things better for me and the team I work in.
An absolute must for each product owner.
The training is a good mix of theory and practice. I learned tools and methodologies which I’m sure will improve my performance in my daily job. Plus, I had the chance to collaborate and have fun with great people with similar interests and challenges!
You guys rock. You find a great balance between theory and practical sessions by listening to your group.
Helped me to get an outside perspective on my daily job, which make me change some things.
It is highly productive and it is fun to do.

Every time I meet with Holly, I have the feeling someone is really understanding the needs of people. She has knowledge that no one else in my company has. Her value is extremely high for consultation and mediation, conflicts, personal problems… she listens and analyses problems directly to the point and gives possible solutions.
The coaching with Stefan helped me to find new resources and methods to help me with the problems I was encountering in my day to day as a Product Owner. It was a good opportunity to take a step back and reflect on what were my strengths and weaknesses as a PO having someone’s external point of view.

If you are a product owner, do yourself a favour (or Christmas gift) by joining #PoDojo.
Leave your daily work behind and be open minded, this workshop will blow your mind!
Recently, I was part of a team to work on a project to deliver the product in 5 months, none of the team members had prior working/personal relationship. In this difficult situation, having almost 10h of one-to-one coaching with Holly helped me to identify many things in myself and other people’s need and rationale behind. Holly helped me with different techniques to understand the root cause of personal conflicts, reason of demotivation and individuals being non-committal to be as team. I am glad to have Holly as my personal coach, it really helped me to be successful in what I am doing now.
Mann + Hummel Group, Innovation Management, New Product Development
Thanks for the inspiration, the mixture of hands-on and theoretical parts made the #PoDojo a very valuable experience for me. I loved the busy atmosphere and the vibe. I totally recommend #PoDojo to any PO.
Be prepared to have fun, to do things that you never ever thought you are able to do, but be prepared with good shoes as there will be little sitting and more doing. And not to forget the most important #trusttheprocess :).
#PoDojo was a perfect way to work and share experience with people with different understanding on product ownership. 3 days of workshop and we have now a toolbox to unlock different situations.
After a series of rapid changes in our product development department in 2015 we have been facing a mismatch of outcome with stakeholder expectations within the development and product team behind the Bringmeister delivery service platform. With their empathy-based and solution-focused participative approach, Stefan Haas and Jens Otto Lange helped us navigate the complexity of making Bringmeister successful. After a few, high impact workshops they facilitated with the whole team and a very limited time invested we could re-create alignment of product development with the business strategy increasing team motivation, autonomy and ownership of responsibility.
Bringmeister GmbH, Geschäftsführer CMO
The #PoDojo is a great opportunity to get in touch with other Product Owner which are facing mostly the same problem. Practicing the theoretic models helps enormous to learn them and understand their need.

During this three day long training, I met fantastic people and practiced a lot of techniques which can help me every day to make my team more efficient and my product better. What’s more, the coaches answered a lot of difficult questions of ours and helped us to solve problems around our products.
It’s an intensive training for experienced product owners. I don’t know any other event which covers similar topics in a three day course.
Thank you Stefan, as our facilitator and coach you contributed substantially in taking us as a team to the next level – and it was both, big fun yet productive and fruitful!

After three years of several recommendations, I finally had the chance to attend a Product Dojo myself. It is amazing what we have accomplished in such a short amount of time. The tight and timeboxed schedule, helped us concentrate and focus on core issues. Nevertheless, the time pressure caused a spark in creativity and resulted in a value-generating prioritization. The mix of attendees was highly diverse, which enabled great conversations and networking.

I think you can’t get more inspiration in 3 days than in the #PoDojo.

I find this very useful that you can talk to someone who is not in your team about the possible challenges in the team and also personal things and do this confidentially. And Holly always has good questions to facilitate the discussion and makes me think things over from another perspective.

We’re a multicultural team of 5 people with different professional backgrounds selected by our company in order to found a corporate startup in Silicon Valley within 6 months. Coming out of organizational structures and now working in this innovative environment #PoDojo offered great support both for our business (Streametric.io) following the lean startup methodology and also individually in terms of personal development. Doing the right things at the right time is very critical for any startup and young businesses so I can highly recommend #PoDojo’s very competent team that will help you to develop your business efficiently and to grow with healthy team dynamics.
Mann + Hummel Group, Commodity Buyer
Holly has extremely high value. I feel that her training makes it easy to openly discuss any issues both private and work-related without being afraid of being judged or seen as a problem that needs to be solved. During our sessions I received valuable advice and hands-on tools which I’m making use of ever since. I feel there’s no other person that has the training and the neutrality and from whom I can get support as unconditionally as from Holly.
The PoDojo was an amazing learning experience! Designing multiple products while applying concepts like Design Thinking & Lean Startup was a fresh experience!
The workshop is hands on – just like I expected it so see.
#PoDojo Lean Innovator Dojo – Suprising experience on converting my idea into reality. Helping a research guy to learn to think in business model. Guide you towards the right direction.
I would recommend #PoDojo to anyone on their way to becoming a Product blackbelt.
The list is big. I’m impressed. I learned new tools, I got a better / deeper understanding about tools I already knew and I also got a much clearer vision about how different processes relate to each other.
It took Holly just 4 sessions to save me and others around me. I had the feeling that I cannot breathe anymore, as I had so many things to do and it looked like it would never stop … I also started to behave like a person that I really do not like (being stressed out and aggressive all the time without any reason). It was just too much for me and people around me starting releasing that I am in a bad shape. The magic happened at the end of the year – Holly helped me create my own safe zone. The best part was that it was so easy. Simple methods that helped me calm down and I started using them every day because they are so easy to combine in my daily routine.
Relevant to the modern world!
It is an intensive and really practical workshop and it solves the biggest problem: Really use the tools you have learned.
As User Exprerience Designer it was a great chance to get a deeper understanding of the Product Owner job so now I can integrate User Experiece Methods much better in our daily team work.
Very inspiring event with great dedicated people! Awesome.
It was a great experience! It was nice to have an interactive class with lots of great projects and discussions.
It has been a great experience with great trainers. Highly recommended to ambitious Product Owners!
Intense. Great insights! Wow! Highly recommended.
